David M. Heisler
My first involvement with photography was as an archaeologist in the 1970s. I conceptrated on technical photos to document my excavation and other research. My trusty Nikon F served me will during my trvels throughout the U.S. and Europe as a progressed from archaeologist and university professor to com[puter programmer, environmental, scientist, business executive, and, finally, professional photographer.
Since 2003, I have used Nikon digital SLRs exclusively, shooting only in Raw format. I am always looking for unusual - but attractive - compositions that will set my images apart from others. Whether it is photographing a pelican from inside the bird's beak or wide angle close-ups that emphaisize the massiveness and texture of adobe buildings, I strive to make my work stand apart.
